I just almost had my first significant car accident. Wet roads. A guy on a motorbike riding in the opposite direction fell off his bike and in front of my car.
Fortunately there was nobody in the lane beside me. Fortunately my car handles well in the wet. Fortunately I was going about 6k under the limit. Fortunately I happened to be looking at him when he fell.
Fortunately. Very fortunately.
I'm a little shaken, though probably not as badly shaken as the guy who fell off his bike.
God, I've always had an irrational fear of that happening to me while I'm driving. Turns out maybe it's not so irrational after all.... Glad to hear it all turned out ok.
Thanks for exam results congrats too. And same to you might I add!
It didn't hit me until afterwards what had happened; I couldn't even stop because it was the middle of a busy road. The guy was fine, I saw him get up and the car behind me stopped to see if he was okay. It wasn't til I got home that I became a "wow, I nearly killed somebody" nervous wreck, though probably not as badly as the guy on/off the bike.
And thanks! I get the final honours result tomorrow. My supervisor has been sending me encouraging messages all day, suggesting that I will be very impressed with my grades, but I'm not celebrating until I see H1 on the screen... :)
